Tom's Bowl has the look, feel and weight of frosted glass but all the safety and convenience of plastic. It has a very hard, non-porous surface so it is almost impossible to scratch. It is the same as ceramic, glass or steel in terms of food safety. Our material has been tested and approved for food safety contact for humans. Believe it or not, there are no testing regulations for pets. Since it is safety-approved safe for humans, we're confident it is good for our cats. Tom's Bowl measures 3” high, and is a 5” round. It weighs about .7 lb. The bowl comfortably holds a small or medium can of wet food, a cup of dry food and is excellent for water too. This bowl is not recommended for use in the dishwasher. The bowl is fine in the dishwasher but the signature Cats Rule jewel will lose its rhinestone nose from the high heat. The bowls clean very easily with hot water and dish detergent. 1% of the proceeds from all products sold will be donated to rescue organizations that have no-kill policies.
