Canine Kingdom Approves Coyote Roller®

Founder cites ‘life-saving function’, ‘ease of use’ and ‘cost effectiveness’  

(ALBANY, NY)  Canine Kingdom, a watchdog group dedicated to improving the lives of dogs and their parents, has awarded the Canine Kingdom Seal of Approval to Coyote Roller®. The Coyote Roller is a fencing product that keeps dogs in their yards─and predators away. It is the third Canine Kingdom approved product. The Canine Kingdom Seal of Approval is given to products that have passed rigorous research and testing, and found to be notable in the training or care of pet dogs.

“We think this product is exceptional,” says Canine Kingdom Founder Mary Beth Close.  “It is a simple and common-sense product that has undoubtedly saved hundreds of dogs’ lives. Over 18,000 coyote rollers have been sold without a complaint, an escape or an attack.”

One of the main areas of research that Canine Kingdom has invested in is lost dogs. From ways of preventing lost dogs to finding them, Canine Kingdom has found this to be an area of great concern—and now relief—for millions of dog parents. The first two products, the Kong® Toy and the RoamEO® GPS tracking device, support dogs by keeping them happy and safe at home. Canine Kingdom’s first  product to receive the Canine Kingdom Seal of Approval was the Kong®, a chewing toy that provides entertainment.  By helping keep a dog from boredom or wandering, the Kong® can divert destructive chewing behavior. The second approved product was the RoamEO GPS collar, the most effective and cost efficient means of finding lost dogs known today.

In the two years that Canine Kingdom unveiled its Web site, tens of thousands of dog parents have visited, seeking safe products and objectively reviewed training information and advice for their canine family members.  Canine Kingdom has provided valuable supplements—on latchkey dogs and home cooking—for dog parents, offering them for free in times of concern.  The organization also has a commerce division, caninekingdom.com that also offers safe and tested products for dogs and their families, and on rare occasions awards the Canine Kingdom Seal of Approval. 

The Coyote Roller consists of a rotating bar that is affixed on existing fencing that makes it difficult for predators to obtain a foothold to pull themselves up and over fencing.  Similarly, it prevents even the most skilled ‘canine escape artist’ from climbing over a fence. It is designed to freely rotate with as little as two ounces or pressure, yet withstands more than 250 pounds of weight in the center of its four foot roller.  It needs almost no maintenance and is constructed of specially designed aluminum rubbing, UV-resistant polymeric materials and stainless steel components.  A humane solution, it requires no barbed wire or electrical current.

“We heard about too many dogs compromising or being injured by invisible fences”, says Close. “We like the fact that the Coyote Roller can make current fencing systems safe in a cost effective manner and eliminates the need to build eight to ten feet fences.
